Isla Del Sol
streets are maintained and owned by the City of Galveston.
City ordinances apply for all motor vehicles including golf carts.
Trash/Refuse collection is done by the City of Galveston. Galveston uses an automated refuse collection system. One 96 gallon cart is provided for each home at no charge. Additional carts may be obtained (call 797-2122) for $3.00 per month. No plastic bags of garbage placed outside of this container will be picked up. Trash collection for Isla Del Sol is scheduled on Monday. Please have your carts out by 7:00 am and picked up by 7:00 p.m. the same day. In addition to the special automated trucks, there will be a truck picking up large trash items such as limbs, refrigerators and air conditioners (must have the freon and compressor removed and tagged accordingly by a certified technician before it will be picked up). Building materials (lumber, etc…), batteries, butane bottles and glass will not be collected. All items must be places adjacent to the street.
Resident’s mailboxes are located
near the entrance of Isla on the east side of Isla Del Sol Drive. To obtain a mailbox, go to the post office located at 5826 Broadway Street in Galveston.
Aerial and ground spraying is done by Galveston County. To request this service, please call 1-800-842-5622. It really helps if several property owners call, as they will respond quickly in answer to multiple calls.
The City of Galveston does enforce a leash law. It is unlawful for any person owning, keeping, or having an animal in his possession or control to allow it to run at large upon the streets, sidewalks, beaches or public grounds of the city, or to allow it to run at large upon or about the residences, lots or premises of any person other than the owner of such animal.
